Inter-Searchtm Koha Library Management System
Koha is, of course, an open source system. By offering a fully hosted services platform for Koha we are hoping to full the gap that libraries have in actually deploying the Koha LMS - a web-enabled server to run it on, the setup/configuration, the technical skills to support and update the software. What we charge is $90 per month per library registered for the hosting services (irrespective of number of bibliographic items). This can be paid annually or monthly. This means that you don't have to make specific arrangements for setting up your own server or managing the software internally. Once-off charges apply to any data conversion that we need to do to bring existing data that you might have in (see below).
We have both single library and networked libraries using the service – it is very suitable for both.
Characteristically the costs are:
- The monthly service fee per library: $90 per month per lending collection
- A once-off setup charge:
- Site setup and configuration for your instance of Koha - $300
- Holdings Data conversion - as a guideline $200 for MARC sourced data, $500 for other sources
- Patron Data conversion - as a guideline $200 to import from a spreadsheet or data source (you can also directly import patron data yourself)
- Training
The monthly service fee is your only on-going cost. This service fee includes the Koha support (and software upgrades/fixes). We provide email-based support for the software and the operation of your Koha service on a shared data link with other libraries.
Contact us at sales@prosentient.com.au or phone 02 9212 0899 for more details or to discuss your library requirements.
The Inter-Search LMS is based around the Koha open source core - the first and most widely used open source Library Management System with a new generation Library 2.0 web-based catalogue. We have extended the Koha core to provide a rich hosted solution to your Library Management needs. Together with our document delivery system, Koha represents a rich, scalable, library management system for all sizes of library. We can import from MARC format records or other sources (for example from a spreadsheet or a tagged export file). We have developed a range of conversion / import functions that allow us to merge different data sources to avoid duplication of bibliographic items in the resulting catalogue.
